The Trail Blazers are waiving point guard Jamaree Bouyea from his two-way contract, per Sean Highkin of Rose Garden Report.
Bouyea, 24, is 6-foot-2 and has appeared in six games this season, his first with the Blazers. Last season as a rookie, he played in one game with the Wizards and four with the Heat.
Portland signed him to a two-way contract on Nov. 12. He went undrafted out of San Francisco in 2022.
Veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon just returned from a hamstring injury and rookie Scoot Henderson is expected to return soon from an ankle sprain, meaning the Blazers won’t have a need for extra bodies in the backcourt.
They now have a two-way slot available and may look to fill another position. It’s unclear if Bouyea will continue to play for the Rip City Remix or will join another G League team in hopes of an opportunity with the parent club.
