With each passing day, it seems like the Suns come closer to moving widely available forward Jae Crowder. In fact, at this point, it seems like merely a matter of logistics.
Per Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, the Suns may be working on a trade, centered on Crowder, that could potentially involve as many as five teams. It could also just involve two. Like most of these talks, things can change by the phone call between general managers.
The Bucks, Hawks and Warriors are among the most prominent suitors for Crowder, per Pincus, and this isn’t the first time we’ve heard the Bucks mentioned.
As we relayed here, the Bucks apparently have floated the name of shooting guard Grayson Allen. Meanwhile, the Hawks supposedly would be OK with moving injured guard/forward Bogdan Bogdanovic, a player the Suns are said to have on their radar.
Basically, the theme here is that the Suns are looking to add outside shooting from the wing spots. Several others are looking to add Crowder’s grit.
That includes the Warriors, who may be willing to part with some of their young players after an 8-10 start, per Pincus. Their championship window is closing, and veterans are generally who get things done when they mean the most.
Also, as we relayed earlier, the Rockets could potentially become a third team in a Crowder deal — as the Suns reportedly are strongly interested in small forward forward Kenyon Martin Jr.
What’s it all mean? Well, stay tuned. There could be a lot of moving parts coming our way soon, and much of it will revolve around Crowder and his desire to play somewhere other than Phoenix. In the meantime, you can keep up with all of it on our Suns page.
