The trade involving Kevin Porter Jr. and MarJon Beauchamp has officially been completed, according to press releases from the Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks. This was the final deal processed on NBA deadline day, officially finalizing all transactions made this week.
Porter, a former first-round pick, spent last season playing in Greece after a series of off-court incidents. He reached a plea agreement for misdemeanor assault and harassment in January 2024 following an alleged attack on his girlfriend in September 2023.
The Clippers gave him a second NBA chance in July by signing him to a two-year, minimum-salary contract. Porter holds a $2.55 million player option for the 2025-26 season.
Porter is still under investigation by the league for the September 2023 incident involving former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, according to Law Murray of The Athletic.
In his 45 games for Los Angeles this season, the 24-year-old has averaged 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steal in 19.6 minutes per game. However, his offensive efficiency has been a concern with a .423 field goal percentage, .245 three-point shooting, and .645 free throw shooting.
The Clippers have outperformed expectations with Porter off the floor (+5.4 points per 100 possessions), while they’ve struggled when he’s on it (-1.4).
As part of the deal, Porter will earn a trade bonus of $129,245, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks.
Beauchamp, a 24-year-old former first-round pick, has seen his role diminish over his three seasons in the NBA. He has played just 26 games this season, averaging only 4.7 minutes per contest.
The Bucks declined his rookie-scale team option last fall, making him an unrestricted free agent this summer. Beauchamp is earning $2.7 million this season.
