Bucks’ Khris Middleton Declines Option, Enters Free Agency

Bucks forward Khris Middleton is declining the $40 million option on his contract and will become an unrestricted free agent, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.Khris Middleton

There is a chance the Bucks and Middleton could still reach agreement on a longer deal, Wojnarowski added.

Middleton, who turns 32 in August, has been a major part of the Bucks’ status as a contender, playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo in the frontcourt and helping Milwaukee win the championship in 2021.

Injuries limited Middleton to 33 games this past season, when he averaged 15.1 points, 4.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds, shooting a career-low .436 from the field. He will now join center Brook Lopez as two major free agents from last season’s team.
