Latest on Bucks’ Pete Nance

The Bucks have converted Pete Nance’s two-way contract into a multiyear standard deal, the team announced.

As we relayed earlier, the move comes after Milwaukee cleared a roster spot by waiving Cam Thomas.

Nance, an Akron native, had been trending toward this. Monday would have marked the final game he was eligible for on his two-way deal, but his recent play made the decision pretty straightforward.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined again due to a knee injury, Nance has stepped into rotation minutes and held his own. He’s appeared in 37 games this season, averaging 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds while shooting an efficient 56.4 percent from the field and 47.9 percent from three in limited action.

That shooting has stood out.

At 26, Nance has taken a winding path to get here. He spent four years at Northwestern before transferring to North Carolina for his final season, then had brief stops with Cleveland and Philadelphia before landing in Milwaukee on a two-way deal in February 2025.

Now he’s got something more secure.

The Bucks still have a full 15-man roster and an open two-way slot, though that won’t be filled until the offseason.
