Bulls’ Alex Caruso Could Return Saturday vs. Cavs

Bulls guard Alex Caruso underwent wrist surgery after a hard foul (and fall) deliver by the Bucks’ Grayson Allen, but it appears Caruso is nearing a return.Alex Caruso

The possibility exists, it appears, that Caruso could return as Saturday for the Bulls’ home matchup vs. the Cavaliers.

“We’ve just got to continue to try to check the boxes,” Caruso said, via Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic. “And make sure it’s functional and if I get hit it’s not going to be bad, if I fall, little things like that.”

Caruso suffered a broken right wrist as a result of the play. He was initially projected to miss 6-8 weeks. Lately, though, he has taken part in some contact practices, but may need more before returning.

“We’re close,” Caruso said.

Neither Caruso nor Bulls coach Billy Donovan ruled out Caruso playing Saturday vs. the Cavs, per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

The Bulls (40-26) sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference entering Friday’s games. They trail the 76ers by just a half-game, but have just a half-game lead over the Celtics.
