Bulls agree to two-way deal with Jordan Hawkins

Jordan Hawkins didn’t have to wait long for another opportunity. The Bulls have agreed to a two-way deal with the former lottery pick, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports.

The Grizzlies waived Hawkins on Saturday after the sides mutually agreed to part ways. Memphis had acquired him from the Pelicans last month, but Hawkins was looking for a place where he might have a better chance to play.

Chicago is giving him that chance, though a two-way deal is hardly a promise of NBA minutes.

Hawkins, 24, was the No. 14 pick in the 2023 draft after helping UConn win a national championship. He arrived in the league with a reputation as a shooter, but never secured a steady rotation role in New Orleans. He averaged 5.1 points in 51 games last season.

There’s a familiar face in the Bulls’ front office, too. Executive Bryson Graham was with the Pelicans when they drafted Hawkins, as Scotto noted. Chicago knows what it liked about him then. Now it gets to see what he can do with another shot.
