Bulls Remain Active In Trying To Trade Coby White

The Bulls continue to have trade conversations centered on guard Coby White, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.Coby White

While the Bulls are exploring deals, it appears they are not looking to move him just for the sake of it.

“Per source, Bulls have remained active in looking to trade Coby White, but interest hasn’t matched where the Bulls value him,” Cowley reported. “Could keep him and let the market set the price on him next offseason if that doesn’t change. They are not just going to give him away.”

White, 22, is 6-foot-5 and just completed his third season, all in Chicago. He averaged 12.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 61 games. All of those numbers were down slightly from the previous year, though some of that may have had to do with the presence of Lonzo Ball (when healthy).

Prior to the NBA Draft, the Bulls reportedly were offering a package of White and the No. 18 overall pick. They ended up keeping White and selecting Arizona guard Dalen Terry with the pick.

While the Bulls are may be some options with White, their offseason priority is re-signing guard Zach LaVine, an unrestricted free agent. As we wrote previously, it is believed that LaVine will eventually end up returning to Chicago — with perhaps just a few tweaks to a proposed deal.

LaVine is considered almost a shoe-in to return the Bulls, per multiple reports and sources.

As for White, Cowley added:

“If the market is telling you right now they don’t have a lot of interest, let that same market try and set a price on Coby White next offseason when the Bulls can decide if they want to match it or pass him along. Plus, current Bulls backcourt is fragile.”
