Bulls Signing Matt Thomas To Camp Deal

The Bulls have agreed to a training camp contract with shooting guard Matt Thomas, according to Keith Smith of Sportac.Matt Thomas

Thomas, 27, is 6-foot-4 and went undrafted out of Iowa State in 2017. After a few years overseas, he has spent time in the NBA recently with the Raptors and Jazz.

He finished last season with Utah, averaging 3.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in 19 appearances. The Jazz waived him on Aug. 1.

“While in Spain, (Thomas) became one of the most-feared shooters in Europe, as he shot 46% and 48% on three-pointers in those two seasons,” RealGM wrote.

The Bulls have undergone quite a roster change under second-year head of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas. Along with Thomas, they recently came to terms with forward Stanley Johnson and Alize Johnson, per reports.

Thomas and Stanley Johnson were teammates briefly with the Raptors.

Thomas is likely a long shot to make the Bulls’ opening-day roster, but is undoubtedly be a candidate for their G League affiliate and some guaranteed money.
