The Cavaliers are off to a historic start. That much you know. They’re also coming off one of their most embarrassing losses in franchise history. You probably know that, too.
So what’s next for the Cavs? Well, more games. As in 42 of them. There are also rumors about a potential trade target. I discuss all that and more in the latest Hoops Wire Live from 330 to Go. Watch here or directly below.
Basically, now that the Thunder loss is out of the way, the Cavaliers must treat it as if it’s ancient history. It’s good that they got a day off (unlike after beating OKC last week) before their next game.
That allows them some time to go back to the ol’ drawing board and try to correct some things. They’ve lost two of four since winning 12 straight and didn’t look good in one of those wins (against the lowly Toronto Raptors).
But you can’t expect near-perfection every night. There will be rough spots during the course of an 82-game season. I wouldn’t go as far as to say the Cavaliers have hit a rough spot. They just had an awful night against a Thunder team that’s been an absolute buzzsaw. OKC has been blowing out everyone right now.
They had won 15 straight entering last week’s game in Cleveland, they lost to the Cavs, and haven’t lost since. And why does it always seem that when the Cavs are having a great season, someone else is having a season that rivals it? (Remember the 2016 Cavs? Before they won the title, Golden State was all the rage that season.)
Anyway, find out my take on the Cavs, what’s next, and a whole lot more in the latest Hoops Wire Live.
