The Cavaliers are an East-best 44-10 entering this weekend’s All-Star break. Not too shabby, huh?
Actually, it’s the best record in franchise history after 54 games. And the Cavaliers just added De’Andre Hunter, theoretically the 3-and-D wing that was lacking. Booby Gibson, Rafa Hernandez-Brito and Yours Truly discuss all that and more on the latest Full Court Cleveland. Watch the full episode here or directly below.
Along with the Cavs, we discuss our favorite All-Star memories. For Booby … well, let’s just say he had one that was pretty magical. Raf and I have a few cool ones as well, though ours didn’t take place on the actual court — yet. There’s still time, right?
Anyway, back to the Cavaliers. In Year One of coach Kenny Atkinson, they have totally remade themselves into a team that shares the ball, plays with joy and plays with great confidence. They’ve really only had one bad night (that forgettable loss at Oklahoma City four weeks ago).
And the Cavs are doing what everyone had hoped when Atkinson got the job. Darius Garland is having a career season. Same goes for Evan Mobley. Donovan Mitchell has taken a step back in terms of volume shooting and stats, but truly may be better than ever. Jarrett Allen is regularly — and somewhat quietly — doing it all near the basket.
Better yet, the Cavs expect to be even better after the break and heading into the playoffs.
Anyway, we discuss all that and a whole lot more on Full Court, so be sure to check it out. You can also, of course, catch it on Fan Duel Sports Network regularly, so be sure to check your local listings.
