CLEVELAND — As you know, it’s been a banner year for the Cavaliers. They enter Friday at 61-15, best in the Eastern Conference. The magic number to clinch the East? Two. Boston likely will just cede the top East seeding to the Cavs this weekend.
Anyway, Gab Kruez filled in to join me on the latest Full Court Cleveland from Big Play Sports Network. You can catch it all weekend before or after Cavaliers games on FanDuel Sports Network Cleveland. Or just watch it directly below.
The Cavs visit San Antonio on Friday, before returning home Sunday to face the Sacramento Kings. Win both, and the top seed in the East is clinched. Or if the Cavs win one, and the Celtics lose one, the top seed in the East is clinched. I wouldn’t bank on the Celtics losing, though. They have the easiest remaining schedule in the NBA.
Meanwhile, the Cavs may want to exact some revenge on the Kings. As I said on the show, all of Sacramento behaved as if the Kings won the title when they beat the Cavaliers at home a few weeks back. The Kings have been pretty bad since.
That also was arguably the Cavs’ worst showing of the season (other than at Oklahoma City). So here’s to hoping they crown the Kings and continue to cruise … and then yes, start resting their regulars by the middle of next week. That will mean the East’s best seed is officially clinched.
