Well, the Cavaliers’ offseason has begun with a bang. And if not a single bang, then tons of noise.
It begins with all the Donovan Mitchell rumors, particularly when it comes to him potentially signing a max contract extension with the Cavs. And that’s just the start.
There is also chatter involving the futures of Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen in Cleveland, as well as some talk on the status of coach J.B. Bickerstaff. Round and round it goes, how it ends up no one yet knows.
As usual, I joined co-hosts Chase Smith of the Press Play Podcast network and John Sabol of FOX 8 News to break it all down on the latest Cavs on the Break pod. Listen here on Apple Music or simply in either of the options directly below.
I also took a deep dive into the Cavs’ offseason, attempting to separate fact from fiction, on my latest 330 to Go show. You can check the full video here.
Bickerstaff, for his part, told reporters that he wants to remain Cavaliers coach.
“We have continued to build this thing the right way,” he said. “Every single year we’ve improved, continued to get better, play-in, playoffs, win a round … players have gotten better. Guys have had great years.
“This is definitely a place I want to be.”
When asked if he thinks he’ll be back, Bickerstaff laughed.
“I mean, no one’s told me I’m not,” he said. “So, I’ll keep showing up ’til they tell me not to.”
