The Cavaliers now own a bar, and it only cost them a million bucks.
More specifically, the Cavs bought a former bar at 721 Bolivar Road in Cleveland’s Gateway District, per Crain’s Cleveland Business. A picture of the bar shows it was called “Fins and Feathers.”
Now, full disclosure: I live near my hometown of Akron and I don’t frequent bars. So I’m hardly an expert on the topic. But it appears there is at least a little history with the establishment.
“Tops and Bottoms, a gentlemen’s club, ran there until then-councilman Joe Cimperman helped shut it down after a string of incidents, Cleveland Scene reported,” wrote Grant Afseth of Cavs Roundtable. “Victory Alley Sports Bar closed in 2021. Fin & Feathers came after that, then the Frozen Daiquiri Bar, which the city pressured into closing when police kept getting called to the address across 10 months. James Cleveland ran the daiquiri bar.
“He reopened the space in March 2025 as The Stadium Sports Bar and Grill, put in a full-size basketball hoop and a wall of screens, and sold popcorn, nachos, chili dogs, corned beef sandwiches, and burgers.”
Alrighty then. What does this mean for the Cavs? Well, we don’t know yet. The property sits across from Progressive Field and about a block from Rocket Arena, so you don’t exactly need to be a commercial real estate expert to understand why it might interest them.
The Cavs and Rock Entertainment Group have been expanding their footprint around downtown Cleveland, including the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center and a planned 6,200-seat riverfront amphitheater.
Now they own an old bar, too.
