Cavs owner Dan Gilbert sends buses of fans to Detroit for Game 2 vs. Pistons

The Cavaliers are down 1-0. Their owner is making sure they won’t be alone in Detroit.

Dan Gilbert is covering the cost for multiple buses of Cavs season-ticket holders to attend Game 2 against the Pistons on Thursday night, according to reports and social media posts circulating ahead of tipoff.

That includes transportation, tickets and even stops along the way.

“Heard that Dan Gilbert is sending multiple busses filled with #Cavs season ticket holders to Game 2 tonight in Detroit with all expenses paid for,” Danny Cunningham wrote. “Very nice gesture.”

Video from the trip has already started making the rounds, showing Cleveland fans gathering and making the trip north to Little Caesars Arena.

It comes at a key moment.

The Cavaliers dropped Game 1 and now face a pivotal Game 2 before the series shifts back to Cleveland. The Pistons have momentum. Gilbert is trying to bring a little of Cleveland with him to counter it.

Call it a small edge. Call it a message.

Either way, there will be some extra wine and gold in the building Thursday night.
