Garland is listed as having sustained a thigh contusion (bruise). There was no sign of Garland at shootaround in Miami on Friday, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

The Cavs (42-26) are coming off a road win over the Heat on Wednesday. Garland finished with team-highs of 25 points and seven assists, shooting 8-of-16 from the field in one of his finest all-around showings of the season.

Cleveland is just two wins away from matching last season’s win total and sits in second place in the Central Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference overall. The Cavs have not won a playoff series without LeBron James on the team in 30 years, though they are hoping to change all that this season, with Garland being one of their greatest hopes to do so.

“The grit and the resilience that we showed,” coach J.B. Bickerstaff said after Wednesday’s win. “It was an ugly fourth quarter for both teams. These are two really good defenses that put you in difficult situations, forced a ton of turnovers both ways, but I thought our guys did a great job of maintaining their poise.”
