Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen is hoping to return from a broken finger within the next three weeks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The NBA playoffs start in four weeks, so based on that timeline, Allen would return just before they begin.
Allen is coming off the first All-Star Game appearance of his career and averaging 16.3 points and 10.9 rebounds on the season. He suffered the injury in a win over the Raptors on March 6. He also suffered a quad contusion in that game, but should be recovered from that even before the finger.
Allen has been spotted on the Cavs’ sideline, sporting a large splint/bandage on his left hand. He has opted not to have surgery on the finger, as reported by Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
“The plan is to take it day-by-day with hopes the 6-foot-11 center will return to the lineup at some point during the final (11) regular season games,” Haynes reported.
The Cavs play five of their next 10 games at home, beginning with Monday’s matchup vs. LeBron James and the Lakers. You can read more about that game in the latest Dribbles right here or listen to the latest Cavs podcast right here.
