Cavs Officially Sign Danny Green

As expected, the Cavaliers have signed guard/forward Danny Green, the team announced in a press release.Danny Green

Green’s contract will be for one year and $2 million, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. He will wear No. 14 in Cleveland.

Green, 35, is 6-foot-6 and expected to add veteran depth and 3-point shooting to Cleveland’s younger core. Along with that, Green has won championships with the Spurs, Raptors and Lakers.

Green recently agreed to a buyout with the Rockets after last week’s trade from the Grizzlies. He has spent most of the season on the injured list and has appeared in just three games.

Last season, Green appeared in 62 games with the 76ers, providing his usual dose of perimeter defense, scoring 5.9 points and shooting 38 percent on 3-pointers.

Cleveland originally drafted him with the No. 46 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He then went on to be a part of the Spurs’ championship roster in 2014, as well as the Raptors’ title-winning team in 2019. Along with that, Green was a member of the Lakers’ 2020 championship team in the Disney bubble.
