Cavaliers forward Riley Minnix is nearing a deal with French club ASVEL, according to Blazo Komnenic of Meridian Sport (via EuroHoops and Hoops Rumors).
Minnix joined the Cavs on a two-way contract in February after spending the first part of the season with the Spurs organization. He appeared in six games with Cleveland and also saw action with the G League’s Charge, showing some versatility and productivity along the way.

The 25-year-old went undrafted out of Morehead State in 2024 before catching on with San Antonio. While he hasn’t gotten much NBA run, Minnix consistently produced at the G League level.
In 34 games with the Austin Spurs and Charge this past season, he averaged 18.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and a scorching 42.8 percent on three-pointers.
Either way, Minnix remains under contract with the Cavs on a non-guaranteed two-way deal for next season. So a move overseas could offer more of an opportunity, and yes, perhaps more money.
Per EuroHoops: “Known for his shooting ability and versatility in the frontcourt, the American is now expected to make the jump across the Atlantic for what would be his first experience in European basketball.”
