Cavs Rock, Roll, And Sweep Past Heat With Greatest Of Ease

Have you ever seen a Cavalanche for an entire game? Well, you have now.Cavaliers, Cavs, Donovan Mitchell, Max Strus, Kenny Atkinson

And the Cavaliers are moving on to the second round of the playoffs because of it. More specifically, the Cavs utterly embarrassed the Miami Heat in a closeout game, with a 138-83 victory Monday night in Miami.

Game. Set. Series over in four games. That was more than a sweep. That was a slaughter.

How easy was this one? The Cavs led by scores of 38-10, 41-12, and 63-23 in the first half. They were up 72-33 at the intermission. They once led by SIXTY. It was easy to pray for a running clock in the second half. And I’m talking about if you were the Heat.

The Cavs, on the other hand, were just out there having fun. They probably could’ve played all night. For Cleveland, it was probably more like a party than a playoff game. Their 138 points were a franchise playoff record.

Three Cavs had reached double figures in scoring by the end of the first quarter (Donovan Mitchell, De’Andre Hunter, Jarrett Allen). Allen also compiled six steals in the first half alone, a new franchise record for the playoffs.

Oh yeah, the Cavs still didn’t have Darius Garland (toe). He’s missed two straight. Both have been a basketball bloodbath in favor of the Cavs. As for Garland, the injury doesn’t sound all that serious.

He will have some extra time to rest now, given that the Cavs will be off until Saturday or Sunday. They will meet the winner of the Pacers-Bucks series in the second round. Indiana has a 3-1 lead with the next game at home. So that one should be over soon, too.

“No sir,” Cavs guard Ty Jerome told legend Jim Chones when asked if Jerome had a preference on the next opponent (via the Cavs Radio Newtork).

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs with 22 points, Hunter added 19, Jerome 18, Evan Mobley 17, and Allen 14 after starting the game with a steal and a dunk. And then, the Cavalanche was on.

Much more coming later in Dribbles.
