Cavs Sign Tacko Fall To One-Year Deal

The Cavaliers have agreed to a one-year contract with free agent center Tacko Fall, agents agents Bill Duffy and Justin Haynes told Shams Charania of The Athletic.Tacko Fall

Fall, 25, is 7-foot-5 and spent his first two seasons with the Celtics. His deal with Cleveland is nonguaranteed, Charania reported.

Fall was the tallest NBA player last season and among the tallest known people in the world. He has appeared in a total of 26 games, averaging 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds. Most of his time was spent in the G League, where he blocked close to 4.0 shots a game.

The signing of Fall is likely on a tryout basis, as the Cavs currently have 14 players under contract. But Fall could be headed to the G League with the Cleveland Charge.

“The Cavaliers have no shortage of big men, especially after the sign-and-trade for Lauri Markkanen, but Fall could be a solid insurance policy, given the injury concerns between Markkanen and Kevin Love,” wrote Eli Cohen of Hoops Rumors.
