It’s hard to believe, but one of the greatest moments in Cleveland sports history happened 10 years ago this month.
The Cavaliers announced they will host a free outdoor celebration on June 19 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the franchise’s unforgettable 2016 NBA championship.
The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at Meet Me Here Plaza, located outside Rocket Arena at the corner of East 4th Street and Huron Road.

According to the team, fans can enjoy a block-party atmosphere featuring food trucks, a beer garden, interactive activities, championship merchandise and a commercial-free replay of Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.
Of course, that game remains one of the most memorable in NBA history.
Led by LeBron James, the Cavs became the first and still only team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, rallying to defeat the 73-win Warriors and capture the city’s first major professional sports championship in more than 50 years.
Last year, James reflected on that historic comeback during an episode of his “Mind the Game” podcast, recalling how confident he remained after Cleveland fell behind 3-1 in the series.
“We’re gonna win Game 5,” James said he told teammates. “If we get back to Cleveland for a Game 6, there will be a Game 7.”
He was right. And 10 years later, Cavaliers fans will have a chance to relive every moment of a championship run that forever changed the franchise — and the city.
