That would be none other than the upcoming Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, the Cavaliers’ new practice facility that will be located on the banks of the Cuyahoga River downtown.

The Cavs and Bedrock Real Estate unveiled the fist official renderings on Tuesday.

Not only will it serve as the Cavs’ new headquarters, but promises to be “one of the world’s largest training facilities.” At 210,000 square feet, that sounds about right.

The fun is expected to begin this year, with groundbreaking scheduled to take place before the end of 2024. (Pending city approval, of course.)

“This project is the first step in creating a more vibrant and growth-oriented neighborhood, transforming the look and feel of downtown,” Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, the founder of Bedrock, said in a statement. “We are grateful to our partners at the city of Cleveland and the Cleveland Clinic for their support with this very important and exciting project that will ignite our new vision for the riverfront.”

The Cavs’ practice facility has been located in Independence, Ohio, since 2007. They will remain there until the new venue is completed.

Along with everything else, planners said Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center will offer “comprehensive care for the general public, including athletes of all sports and levels, with access to testing and high-tech training equipment and devices, along with expert professionals from a variety of specialties, including orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, exercise physiology, neurology, nutrition, psychology and genetics.”

For now, though, we can only envision what it will look like, and according to the renderings, it’s bound to be pretty cool.

All that’s left is to know what to call it for short. For instance, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is affectionally known as “The Rock.” So maybe the new facility can be called “The Peak.” But that’s a decision for another day.

Per Dave DeNatale of WKYC:

“The Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center will also mark the first step of Bedrock’s ambitious Cuyahoga Riverfront Master Plan, ‘a $3.5 billion vision to advance 35 acres of the riverfront, prioritizing accessibility and sustainability.” Project leaders say the facility “will bring renewed energy and beauty to downtown Cleveland and join the (Rocket Mortgage) FieldHouse as a vital part of the city’s vision of being an 18-hour, 15-minute neighborhood to live, work, play and stay.'”
