Celtics continue to listen to trade offers for Jaylen Brown

The Celtics aren’t actively shopping Jaylen Brown, but they’re listening.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Boston continues to entertain trade inquiries involving the former Finals MVP after an offseason that has already featured plenty of speculation about the team’s future.

Charania reported that the Celtics discussed Brown in talks with the Bucks before Milwaukee ultimately traded superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat.

Brown, 29, is entering the second season of the five-year, $285 million extension he signed with Boston in 2023. He is scheduled to earn roughly $57.1 million next season and becomes eligible for a two-year extension worth approximately $142 million in July.

Despite the ongoing rumors, Brown remains one of the league’s most productive two-way wings.

He averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists this past season, earning another All-Star selection while helping lead Boston to a 58-win campaign.

The Celtics’ season ended in disappointing fashion, however, as they squandered a 3-1 series lead and were eliminated by the 76ers in seven games in the opening round of the playoffs. Brown averaged 25.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the series.

League insiders have linked Brown to several teams in recent weeks, including the Hawks, Rockets, Pelicans and Trail Blazers, though no deal appears imminent.
