Charles Barkley has been accused of saying some outlandish stuff. But when it came to the Cavaliers’ first-round series against the Miami Heat, he went with the trending prediction.
Namely, that the Cavs should be able to make quick work of the series — even with Darius Garland sidelined for Game 3 with a sprained big toe.
Barkley also predicted the Heat would give it all they had, as we saw in Games 1 and 2 in Cleveland. Games 3 and 4 are in Miami.
“Coach (Erik) Spoelstra is so terrific. The Heat will be ready to play,” Barkley said on the Inside the NBA set on TNT. “The Cavs will win the series, 4-0 or 4-1. But they will be tested.”
Games 1 or 2 have had their close moments, but the Cavs did not trail after the first quarter in either.
“This is a big test for Cleveland,” Shaquille O’Neal added, citing specifically star guard Donovan Mitchell.
