Draymond Green: Warriors ‘Very Fragile’ Team at Moment

It’s safe to say things have not gone well for the reigning champion Warriors lately. They’re coming off a 1-5 road trip and sit in 11th place in the Western Conference.Draymond Green

Along with that, star guard Steph Curry remains injured and out. So not surprisingly, two of the losses on the trip — to the Knicks and Nets — were absolute beatdowns.

Without Curry, the Warriors look like a bad mix of aging stars and young players who are still trying to find their way.

“Right now, I think we are very fragile,” forward Draymond Green said, via Kendra Andrews of ESPN. “You start going through these things and then you start believing them. Once you start believing them, it becomes who you are. The only way to break them is by being mentally tough.”

It may take more than just Curry’s return to make things better, too. The Warriors might have to look to make a deal if they decide the idea is to chase another championship.

“It’s not something that’s going to be fixed with the snap of a finger,” Green said. “You’ve got to work through these issues to get that confidence. It’s just not showing up. As much as you’d like to think, ‘Oh, we’ll be fine, and this guy will come back.’ No, no, no. You’ve got to work (for) positive outcomes, positive feelings, that ultimately give you that boost of confidence.”
