ESPN Hires Kendra Andrews, Sister Of Malika, To Cover Warriors

ESPN has hired Kendra Andrews to primarily to cover the NBA and specifically the Warriors, the network announced in a press release.Kendra Andrews

Andrews is the sister of NBA Today host Malika Andrews.

“I’m excited and so grateful to be joining ESPN and this talented team of journalists,” Kendra Andrews said. “Growing up in Oakland, I understand how important the Warriors and the NBA are to the Bay Area. I’m looking forward to sharing their stories as they continue an already thrilling season.”

Andrews had been at NBC Sports Bay Area and The Athletic. She will now write for ESPN.com and appear on multiple platforms, including television, where she will occasionally join Malika on NBA Today.

She replaces Nick Friedell, who moved off the Warriors beat to cover the Nets and Knicks.

The Warriors have become a big story again as they have been atop or near the top of the Western Conference since the start of the season. They missed the playoffs entirely in each of the past two years following a rash of injuries.

“Kendra has already established herself as a respected reporter on the Golden State Warriors beat,” said ESPN executive director Cristina Daglas. “We’re looking forward to her continuing that work at ESPN, breaking news and delivering compelling storytelling across all of our platforms.”
