Former Cavs Swingman John Holland Signs In Turkey

Free agent guard/forward John Holland has agreed to a deal with Turkish club Bursaspor Durmazlar, as relayed by Fersu Yahyabeyoglu of Eurobasket.

Holland, 33, is 6-foot-5 and has spent time with the Celtics and Cavaliers, as well as in the G League with the Canton Charge and Austin Spurs. He has also played professionally in Puerto Rico, Israel, Russia and the Philippines.

He last appeared in the NBA in the 2018-19 season, appearing in one game with the Cavs. He played 24 games the year before that, all with Cleveland.

“He could be described as a powerful swingman who shoots well from outside and has the dribbling skills to go inside to finish,” Yahyabeyoglu wrote. “Defense is not his preferred part of the game, but size and athleticism help him in getting the job done.”
