Former Top Pick Anthony Bennett Signs In Taiwan

Former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett has signed with the Hsinchu Lioneers of Taiwan, per Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype.Anthony Bennett

Bennett, 29, is 6-foot-8 and last played for the Kaohsiung Steelers, also of Taiwan. He spent the season before that in Israel, and has played internationally or in the G League every season since 2017.

Bennett was selected by the Cavaliers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, becoming the first Canadian player to be chosen first. His NBA career, however, did not live up to the hype.

After spending his rookie season with the Cavs, Bennett was traded to the Timberwolves along with 2014 top overall pick Andrew Wiggins, in the deal that returned Kevin Love.

He also spent time with the Raptors and Nets, and is a regular member of the Canadian national team, along with former Cavs teammate Tristan Thompson.

Overall, Bennett has appeared in 151 NBA games with career averages of 4.4 points and 3.1 rebounds.
