Grizzlies All-Star point guard Ja Morant will be re-evaluated you in two weeks after suffering a tweak to the knee, coach Taylor Jenkins told reporters.
Morant, 22, exited last weeks game vs. the Hawks with knee soreness and has yet to return. Already, he has become of the NBA’s most electrifying point guards and has led the Grizzlies to the second-best record in the Western Conference (through Wednesday).
For the season he is averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists. “I think the sky’s the limit for him. His future is obviously bright,” Nets star Kevin Durant said. “He makes everyone better playing — even opponents. It’s about the level you approach that game.”
Mark W. Sanchez of the New York Post wrote: “At full health, Morant can beat teams by blowing past them, by outjumping them or outshooting them. He always seems to be the best athlete on a court of athletic phenoms.”
