Hawks’ Clint Capela, De’Andre Hunter Drawing Trade Interest

Multiple teams have reached out to the Atlanta Hawks about the availability of center Clint Capela and forward De’Andre Hunter ahead of the NBA trade deadline, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.NBA, Atlanta Hawks, Clint Capela

But most of the offers for Capela — or potential offers, as the case may be — involve players whose contracts extend beyond this season, Scotto noted. Capela’s deal comes off the books in July.

Meanwhile, sources have told Hoops Wire the Hawks are unlikely to trade Hunter, who’s having a career season and is a big reason they remain in the Hunt for a playoff spot despite having lost seven straight.

Along with those two, Hawks wing Bogdan Bogdanovic is reportedly available and drawing interest.

“Despite missing nearly half of Atlanta’s games this season and struggling at times with his rhythm, some around the league believe the career 38-percent three-point shooter could be rejuvenated during the second half of the season,” Scotto wrote. “Bogdanovic’s contract is considered moveable. It includes $17.26 million this season, $16 million guaranteed for the 2025-26 season, and has a team option at $16 million for the 2026-27 season.”

The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat are believed to have an interest in Bogdanovic, Scotto added.

With the NBA trade deadline set for Thursday afternoon (February 6), it appears the Hawks have some roster decisions to make. They were right in the playoff mix and still remain there — but they lost forward Jalen Johnson for the season and have also lost seven straight.

They do not have a first-round pick in 2025, either. So there’s no reason for them to tank. Not that they would with players such as Trae Young, Hunter and rookie Zaccharrie Risacher, the No. 1 overall pick in 2024.
