The Atlanta Hawks have no plans to move forward Jalen Johnson in any potential pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, Atlanta has consistently viewed the idea of including Johnson in a Giannis deal as a “complete non-starter.”

The Hawks hold control over several future Milwaukee Bucks draft picks, which theoretically could make them a logical trade partner if Antetokounmpo ever became available.

But internally, Atlanta views Johnson as a cornerstone piece.

League sources told Fischer that the Hawks believe the 24-year-old forward has MVP-level potential, which is why the organization quickly dismissed speculation linking him to a possible Giannis package earlier this season.

So, yeah, if the Hawks wants Giannis, they’ll probably have to figure out another route. This is all, of course, assuming Antetokounmpo even becomes available this summer.

Right now, most around the NBA are viewing that as a no.
