Hawks Opt to Keep John Collins on Deadline Day

Despite rumors to the contrary, the Hawks did not trade forward John Collins, opting to keep him beyond Thursday’s deadline.

Collins reportedly had drawn interest from the Jazz, 76ers and several others in recent weeks, though it seemed as if new GM Landry Fields had a steep asking price. Both Fields and assistant GM Kyle Korver are said to be Collins fans and think he will only get better in Atlanta.

That said, the Hawks did make a couple of trades, the most notable of which resulted in them landing forward Saddiq Bey from the Pistons as part of the James Wiseman trade with the Warriors.
