Heat, Nets Would Be Among Teams on Damian Lillard’s Trade List

The Trail Blazers aren’t looking to trade star guard Damian Lillard and he hasn’t requested a trade.

But if any of that should change, you can count the Heat and the Nets among the teams that would be on his list, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report/TNT.

Lillard recently said on Showtime Sports that he thinks the Blazers have the assets to build a competitive team. He even suggested in an Instagram Live post after that interview that his preference is to stay in Portland. Still, the trade rumors continue to swirl.

“I want to have an opportunity to win in Portland,” Lillard said, via Showtime Sports and Clutch Points. “We got an opportunity, asset-wise, to build a team that can compete. If we can’t do that…then it’s a separate conversation we would have to have.”

Haynes addressed the topic of a Lillard trade on The Dan Patrick Show, saying he is in regular contact with Lillard.

When asked where Lillard would want to go if he requested a trade, Haynes responded, “I’ll leave it at the Nets and Miami.”

Interestingly, Haynes added that Lillard would not want to go to the Celtics in a trade, though no reason for that was given.
