Heat Waiving Dru Smith, Signing Orlando Robinson to Two-Way Deal

The Heat intend to waive two-way shooting guard Dru Smith and sign center Orlando Robinson to the vacant two-way contract, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Dru Smith

Both players attended training camp in Miami, before Robinson was waived and Smith landed a two-way spot.

Smith, 24, is 6-foot-3 and has appeared in one game with the Heat after going undrafted out of Missouri in 2021. Miami signed him to the two-way deal on Oct. 13.

Robinson, 22, is 7-0 and was with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Heat’s G League affiliate. In four G League games, Robinson has been averaging 20.0 points and 9.3 rebounds. Smith played for Sioux Falls last season.

The Heat still have an open roster spot. Small forward Jamal Cain is their other two-way player.
