Heat’s Bam Adebayo: I Can’t Control Trade Rumors

Heat power forward Bam Adebayo has been involved in trade rumors recently, given that his team is linked to both Nets star Kevin Durant and Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell.

But Adebayo seems to understand it’s all part of the job. When you’re good enough, opposing teams value you the idea of somehow landing you.

“It is what it is, control what you can control,” Adebayo said from the Hear basketball clinic, via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “Obviously it’s an opportunity for something, but in my opinion, control what you can control. I can’t control that.

“So do what I’ve been doing. I get up early. I work out. Having fun with these kids. And I’m going to go home and go to sleep.”

In the meantime, Adebayo is remaining confident as a member of the Heat — which didn’t need a Durant or Mitchell to finish with the best record in the Eastern Conference last season.

“They’re always counting us out,” Adebayo said, via Winderman. “We The Kennel for a reason, the underdog. That’s our chip. You can believe what you want, you can say what you want.”
