Hornets Interview Frank Vogel For Coaching Vacancy

The Hornets have interviewed former Lakers coach Frank Vogel for their own coaching vacancy, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.Frank Vogel

Vogel is one of a number of candidates who have interviewed with Charlotte via Zoom, Fischer noted.

Vogel, 48, was fired by the Lakers immediately after the season, as a team featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook failed to reach the playoffs. Injuries and fit had a lot to do with that, however, and he remains a respected coach around the NBA.

Other reported candidates for the Hornets: Former Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni, former Nets coach and current Clippers assistant Kenny Atkinson and Bucks assistant Darvin Ham.

Vogel has compiled a 431-389 record in 11 seasons with the Pacers, Magic and Lakers overall. The Hornets, owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan, are looking to replace James Borrego, fired after three seasons.
