Hornets’ Miles Bridges: We’re Here And Putting Rest Of NBA On Notice

The Hornets have been on an upswing lately, and the rest of the NBA is starting to pay attention.

Entering Tuesday night, they had won five straight and seven of 10 after holding off the Pelicans. They are currently 37-35 and in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, good enough for the play-in tournament.

“We had a bad February and we were dropping out of the playoffs, so we just wanted to show the NBA that we’re here,” Hornets small forward Miles Bridges said. “We are going to continue to play like this and put the NBA on notice.”

Led by the likes of LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier and Bridges, the Hornets have not only been winning, but they’ve been doing it the right.

During the five-game winning streak, they are averaging 34 assists, compiling at least 30 in every one of those games.

So is this a case of Charlotte peaking at the right time? Bridges and coach James Borrego sure seem to think so.

“Resiliency, toughness — we never gave in and we found a way,” Borrego said after the 106-103 win over the Pelicans, and those words definitely describe the Hornets as of late.
