Hornets make multiple roster moves

The Hornets have added guard Latrell Wrightsell and waived DaJuan Gordon as they continue sorting through the final spots on their preseason roster, the team announced.

That followed another quick exchange earlier Thursday, when Charlotte waived Wyatt Fricks and signed Gordon.

Wrightsell went undrafted out of Alabama this year after averaging 13.2 points and 3.1 rebounds. The 6-foot-3 guard shot 36 percent from beyond the arc while attempting 7.8 threes per game. Getting shots up shouldn’t be a problem.

Gordon spent most of the past two seasons in the G League. He averaged 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 34 appearances for the Noblesville Boom last season, shooting 45.6 percent on 3-pointers.

The Greensboro Swarm recently acquired Gordon’s returning rights, and all three players appear likely to land with Charlotte’s affiliate.

Fricks’ contract included Exhibit 10 language. Gordon’s and Wrightsell’s deals are also believed to be structured that way, pointing toward G League opportunities rather than immediate NBA rotation roles.
