The Hornets have agreed to a two-way deal with center PJ Hall, agent Matt Bollero told Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN

Hall, a former All-ACC standout at Clemson, has spent the past year bouncing around on two-way contracts. He logged limited NBA minutes with the Nuggets last season and the Grizzlies earlier this year before being waived in November.

Since landing with Greensboro, Charlotte’s G League affiliate, Hall has been productive. Across 14 G League games split between the Swarm and Memphis Hustle, he’s averaged 14.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 blocks in just under 28 minutes per night.

The timing makes sense. Centers Ryan Kalkbrenner and Mason Plumlee were both inactive for Tuesday’s win over the Wizards, leaving Moussa Diabate as the lone healthy option. Diabate delivered — 12 points, 18 rebounds and a plus-38 — but the Hornets were outscored by 21 points in his brief time off the floor.

Charlotte cleared the two-way spot by waiving Drew Peterson. Hall now steps in as the next evaluation project, with a clear path to minutes if the injury list doesn’t shrink soon.
