The Pistons are nearing agreement on a trade that will send center Mason Plumlee and the No. 37 pick to the Hornets for the No. 57 pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Plumlee, 31, spent one season with the Pistons, averaging 10.4 points and 9.3 rebounds in 50 games.
Charlotte has been looking for help in the middle and the always hustling Plumlee will be a nice acquisition, given how little the Hornets had to give up in exchange.
Plumlee has two years at a little more than $8 million per remaining on his contract.
The Pistons own the No. 1 overall pick in the draft and as expected, have decided to take Oklahoma State guard Cade Cunningham, Wojnarowski reported.
