Insider: Zero percent chance Lakers trade for Bulls’ Zach LaVine

When it comes to potential trades, the Lakers are always a team to watch. That’s especially the case when the Lakers are average — which they are.Zach LaVine drives by Austin Reaves (Getty)

They don’t like being average. In LA, it’s always championship or bust. That’s especially the case when their best player is 39 years old — as LeBron James is.

So the Lakers have been linked to both Bulls guard Zach LaVine and Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, two high-scoring guards who are said to be available. Both are also represented by agent Rich Paul, whose extensive client list includes James and Anthony Davis.

Murray may be a possibility for the Lakers, but not so much LaVine, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

“I think there’s a zero percent chance of the Lakers trading for Zach LaVine,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective podcast.

In fact, many around the league don’t think the Lakers will land Murray, either. Or that LaVine will be traded at all. At least, not before the Feb. 8 deadline.

The Lakers will likely make some moves, but the bottom line is they may not be able to make a splash and they may not be all that interested in the names we keep hearing.
