James Harden Intends to Make Sixers ‘Uncomfortable,’ Still Force Trade

As the James Harden saga rolls on, just know it may not get any better simply because he’s now joined the 76ers at training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo.James Harden drives by Jaylen Brown.

In fact, it may be every bit as ugly, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

“James Harden wants a trade. He wants to make the 76ers uncomfortable. So uncomfortable, ultimately, they don’t think they’ll get the best out of him and make a trade,” Wojnarowski said on the network.

In other words, Harden may be showing up to show president of basketball operations Daryl Morey that he is serious about wanting a deal. Harden, of course, demanded a trade back in June, just after picking up a $36.5 million option on his contract.

He specifically wants a trade to the Clippers. The sides have spoken, but nothing is close. The Clippers seem to be waiting to see how all this drama unfolds. If it keeps going down this path, LA seems to think, then the Harden ordeal may get bad enough to take a lower offer.

So the Clippers intend to wait and see. The Sixers have no choice but to do the same. Eventually, we assume, Harden will be in uniform. We just don’t know which uniform that will be. And the fact he’s joining the Sixers apparently has little to do with any of it.
