James Harden is staying in Los Angeles. The 11-time All-Star is declining his $35.6 million player option and plans to sign a new two-year, $81.5 million contract with the Clippers, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The deal includes a player option for the second season and a partial guarantee.
Harden’s new contract reflects both his strong fit with the Clippers and the mutual commitment between the two sides. It gives the 34-year-old a significant raise while allowing the front office to maintain future roster flexibility.
