James Harden has another new contract and another new shoe. It’s been a nice summer for a guy who just turned 37.
We already know about Harden’s deal with the Cavaliers. It’s reportedly for three years and around $97 million. Not everyone loves it. Harden does. The Cavs clearly are fine with it. And those two sides are the only ones that matter.
So let’s move on to the shoe. Harden and Adidas revealed it on Thursday. Officially, it’s the Harden Vol. 11.
“Right when you see it, it’s like, ‘Oh wow, what’s that?’ And then you know: ‘That’s the Harden. That’s a Volume,’” Harden told industry insider Nick DePaula. “We got our own style and our own swag.”
You could say that about Harden’s game, too. Love it or hate it, he plays it like few before him. It’s his own style. Now he has the sneaker to match. Oh, and the new contract.
Harden is about to enter his first full season with the Cavs. He averaged 23.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 8.0 assists in 70 games between the Clippers and Cavs last season.
