Jaylen Brown shuts down Celtics rumors: ‘ I could play here for next 10 years’

The noise picked up. Jaylen Brown didn’t take long to quiet it.

Despite outside chatter — including comments from Tracy McGrady suggesting frustration within the organization — Brown made it clear there’s no issue between him and the Boston Celtics.

“I hate that our president of basketball operations even had to respond to this,” Brown said on a Twitch stream. “Me and Brad have a great relationship. I love Boston. And if it was up to me, I could play in Boston for the next 10 years.”

According to Sam Amick and Eric Nehm of The Athletic, team and league sources backed that up, echoing that there are no internal issues.

If anything, Brown sounded… appreciative.

This past season — one that saw Boston go 56-26 while navigating long stretches without Jayson Tatum — stood out to him for a different reason.

“You got to see all of these guys… grow,” Brown said. “To fight and maneuver through adversity… this was my favorite year.”

That caught some attention, sure. Especially from a guy who already owns a title and a Finals MVP.

But the numbers back the sentiment. Brown posted career highs across the board — 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists — and carried a heavier load than ever.

He’s extension-eligible this summer. Two years, big money, easy decision if things stay like this.

All signs? They are.

Boston isn’t dealing with a problem.

It’s dealing with a cornerstone who sounds exactly like one.
