As expected, the Jazz interviewed former NBA guard Jason Terry for their head-coaching vacancy on Saturday, per Tony Jones of The Athletic.
Terry spent last season as coach of the Grand Rapids Gold, the Nuggets’ G League affiliate.
Per Jones, the Jazz interviewed internal candidates Alex Jenson and Lamar Skeeter earlier in the week. Both spent the past several seasons as assistants on Quin Snyder.
Terry is a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year who served as assistant GM of the G League’s Texas Legends upon retirement in 2018.
He left a year later to become an assistant coach at Arizona, his alma mater, before leaving to coach the Gold before the start of this past season.
The Jazz are casting an incredibly wide net in their coaching search, becoming the 13th name linked to the job in less than a week.
Also mentioned as candidates: Former Lakers coach Frank Vogel, ex-Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts and current Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin. You can check out the full list of candidates on our Jazz page.
Along with interviewing for the Jazz vacancy, Terry is also set to speak with several NBA teams about assisting coaching positions, Shams Charania of The Athletic wrote.
