Jazz, Knicks, Pacers Have Talked Russell Westbrook Trade With Lakers

The Jazz, Knicks and Pacers are among those who have spoken to the Lakers about a potential trade for Russell Westbrook, as relayed by Shams Charania of The Athletic.Russell Westbrook

While the Jazz are being mentioned for the first time, both the Pacers and Knicks have been linked to Westbrook previously.

For starters, Indiana has reportedly discussed a deal involving Buddy Hield and Myles Turner in a package that would include Westbrook, as we relayed here. But so far, the Pacers have rebuffed the Lakers’ proposals.

Also, the Knicks seemingly view Westbrook as a Plan B in the event they can’t land Utah’s Donovan Mitchell.

Basically, right now, there is a limited market for Westbrook — though the Lakers seem to be even more determined to move him now than they were at the trade deadline, sources told Hoops Wire.

“There appears no deal imminent in those conversations (with the Jazz, Pacers and Knicks) — as the overall trade market plays out over the next two months of the offseason,” Charania wrote.

Recent speculation has indicated Lakers star LeBron James would prefer the team find a way to move on from Westbrook, as we relayed here.
