The Jazz have waived shooting guard Saben Lee and signed shooting guard Darryl Morsell, the team announced in a press release.
Lee, 23, is 6-foot-5 and was drafted by the Pistons with the No. 38 overall pick in 2020, GM Troy Weaver‘s first draft in Detroit. He appeared in 48 games as a rookie, and then 37 games last year, averaging 5.6 points each season.
He was then a part of the Pistons-Jazz deal that sent wing Bojan Bogdanovic to Detroit late last month. Lee was viewed as being included for salary-matching purposes.
Morsell, 23, is also 6-foot-5 and went undrafted out of Marquette in June. He spent his first four college seasons at Maryland, earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021.
His deal with the Jazz is an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, meaning he counts toward the preseason roster — but not against the regular-season roster unless he’s signed to a standard deal.
