Kevin Durant is reportedly on his way from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets, and was in the middle of something when the news broke.
More specifically, Durant was on stage during an appearance at Fanatics Fest when he learned of the deal that had been reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
It appeared that Durant did not know about the trade, or at first, if the report was even real.
In exchange for Durant, the Phoenix Suns will receive quite a haul in return, starting with Rockets leading scorer Jalen Green. Along with that, the Suns are getting forward Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and five second-rounders.
Durant joins the likes of Alperen Sengun, Fred VanVleet and Amen Thompson. Houston finished 50-32 last season. Whether this is a move that puts the Rockets over the top … well, it remains to be seen. But it’s worth a shot.
